HYLO- COMOD
Sodium hyaluronate 1 mg / ml

To improve the lubrication of the ocular surface in dry eyes, which burn or with a sensation of the presence of a foreign body due to environmental conditions and after ophthalmosurgery.

Sterile eye drops without phosphates and preservatives.

What is HYLO-COMOD?
HYLO-COMOD is a sterile, preservative-free solution containing 1 mg / ml of sodium hyaluronate, a citrate buffer, sorbitol and water.

What is HYLO-COMOD used for?
To improve the lubrication of the ocular surface in dry eyes, which burn or with a sensation of the presence of a foreign body due to environmental conditions and after ophthalmosurgery.

When to use HYLO-COMOD?
If you have itchy, burning or easily tired eyes, if you feel the sensation of sand in your eyes, this could all be due to a lack of moisture on the ocular surface. If you spend a lot of time in an air-conditioned environment, for example, or after intense computer work, the natural tear film that generally covers the ocular surface breaks down more quickly. For the health of the eye tissue, it is necessary to continuously lubricate it with a tear film.

Due to eye surgery or eye injury, the physiological secretion of tears may be reduced. However, for the regeneration of the superficial tissues of the eye, adequate and continuous lubrication is required. The application of HYLO-COMOD provides long-lasting moisture to the cornea and conjunctiva so that the physiological healing process is effectively supported.

HYLO-COMOD contains the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found inside the eye but also in other parts of the body. Thanks to its special physical properties, it forms a continuous, moist, lubricating, stable and long-lasting film on the ocular surface that is not easily removed. However, this film does not cause blurring of vision and protects the eyes from dryness and irritation for a long time.

This is particularly important if contact lenses are used, as they must be immersed in sufficient tear fluid in order not to cause any discomfort. You can use HYLO-COMOD while wearing slow to contact. The use of hard or soft contact lenses will be more comfortable if you use HYLO-COMOD because it does not create deposits or residues.
HYLO-COMOD is preservative-free, therefore it is generally well tolerated. Furthermore, HYLO-COMOD does not contain phosphates, thus avoiding complications such as residues in the cornea.
The COMOD system on the market releases 10 ml of solution equivalent to about 300 drops. For technical reasons, once the liquid is finished, a small amount remains in the bottle.
You can use HYLO-COMOD for an unlimited period of time.
The bottle of HYLO-COMOD is strictly personal, do not allow it to be used by other people.

How to apply HYLO-COMOD?
Figure 1: Remove the cap before use.
Figure 2: Before the first application, invert the bottle with the dropper down and press the bottom of the bottle to release the first drop from the dropper. The bottle is now ready to use for subsequent applications. Keep the bottle upside down by placing your thumb on the top of the bottle and your other fingers on the bottom of the bottle.
Figure 3: support the hand holding the bottle with your free hand.
Figure 4: Slightly tilt your head back, press quickly and firmly on the bottom of the bottle. The mechanism for the release of ONE drop is thus activated. Thanks to the special valve mechanism of the COMOD System, the size and speed of release of a drop are always the same, regardless of the pressure applied.
Slowly close your eyes to allow the fluid to spread over the surface of the eye.
Figure 5: After use, immediately close the bottle with the cap, making sure that there are no liquid residues on the dropper. During instillation avoid any contact between the dropper of the bottle with the eye or with the skin of the face.

What other information do you need to know?
If other eye drops are used, at least 30 minutes must elapse between applications and HYLOCOMOD must always be used last. However, any ophthalmic ointments should always be applied after using HYLO-COMOD.
Since it does not contain preservatives, HYLO-COMOD is well tolerated even when used over a long period of time. In very rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions such as burning or excessive tearing have occurred which ended immediately upon discontinuation of the use of HYLO-COMOD.
HYLO-COMOD can be used in children, during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

Frequency and duration of use of HYLO-COMOD
Use HYLO-COMOD in accordance with the instructions given by your doctor or specialist who prescribed your contact lenses. Generally, one drop of HYLO-COMOD is applied three times a day in each eye. If necessary, use the product more frequently. In case of more frequent use of HYLO-COMOD (for example more than 10 times a day), contact your ophthalmologist. HYLO-COMOD is suitable for long-term treatments. As with all problems, see your ophthalmologist if they persist.

When not to use HYLO-COMOD?
Do not use HYLO-COMOD in case of hypersensitivity to any of the excipients.
